L2lp
Level 2 Learning ProgrammeDuiske College offers both the Level 1 and Level 2 Learning Programmes. The Level 2 Learning Programme (L2LP) is designed to meet the specific learning needs of students with general learning disabilities or those who may not be able to access the Junior Cycle curriculum in full. It provides a broad and balanced education while focusing on the development of key life skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
The programme is centred around five Priority Learning Units (PLUs):
- Communication and Literacy
- Numeracy, Personal Care
- Living in a Community
- Preparing for Work
These are supported by short courses and other subjects tailored to the student’s interests and abilities.
Learning is highly individualised, with a focus on active participation, practical tasks, and personal development. Students are assessed through portfolio work and classroom-based assessments, ensuring that progress is measured in a meaningful and supportive way.

Code of Behaviour
Duiske College prides itself on the quality of relationships between students and staff. Within this context Duiske College’s first instinct is to praise and reward students who reach the positive behaviour standards we wish for.
An important part of the school’s Code of Behaviour is the effort made to acknowledge the good behaviour of our students Primarily, the individual teacher praises and affirms good behaviour and constantly liaises with Class Teachers, School Management and the Student Support Team to appropriately reward and highlight incidents of good behaviour.
