Duiske College travelled to UCD and won the overall award of GOLD in the Cyberwise project, focusing on Cyberwise and Climate Change.

The project required of the students to focus on a specific theme of immersive technology and teaching sustainability. The students completed two parts of the project, firstly designing a bench, flower box and planting a tree to show our contribution to Climate Change. Secondly the students looked at the theme of fake news and cyberwise and how we are manipulated by false news and creating awareness around the school to demonstrate how you can spot fake news and identify the real issues.

As a result of their tremendous work – The Duiske College Transition Years won Gold, placing first place in the competition against many other schools across the country. Students were presented with the award along with gole medals each and a Ciberwise hoody.

We are extremely proud of our students who are an example of the excellence we instill in all students they are role models in our school. Thank You to Ms Brophy for her hard work and Mr Browne for his assistance on the day.

They now travel to Queen’s University in January to present their project. The future is bright in Duiske College.
